The vision of the Dare County Schools Exceptional Children's Department is to prepare our students with the education and skills they will need to live independently and be successful in college or a career.
We are committed to providing a free appropriate education designed to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. The Exceptional Children's Program will provide the support and related services necessary to implement the educational program and assure that students' and parents' rights are followed in this process.
Dare County Schools’ Exceptional Children’s Program will be purging the EC records of any student who had an Individual Education Program (IEP) and whose birthdate falls in the years of 1990 and 1991. All purged information will be appropriately destroyed.
If you desire to have a copy of these records prior to their destruction, please contact Ms. Jean Simmons (252-480-8888, ext. 1903) at Dare County Schools’ Central Office by July 20, 2018. After that date, the purged information will be destroyed.
