School Registration Instructions
Dare County Schools uses Infinite Campus's digital enrollment platform for new student enrollment, Kindergarten registration, and applying to NC Pre-K. To begin the process, please click the button below:

New Enrollment Reminders
- Enrollment only applies to students who are new or returning to Dare County Schools.
- Families of students who were enrolled in Dare County Schools for the 2024-2025 academic year should not enroll. Annual student verification will take place in July 2025.
Save Each Section:
To ensure your information is saved as you move between sections, it is recommended to use the Save/Continue button after completing each section of the New Student Registration. You will find the Save/Continue button at the bottom of the screen throughout the application process.
Required Fields:
Fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are mandatory. Please ensure that all information is accurate, including spelling, capitalization, and punctuation, as the data will be imported exactly as entered.
Annual Parental Agreements:
Complete the Annual Parental Agreements online. Review each notification carefully and provide an electronic signature at the end, which will be treated the same as a handwritten signature. Note: Hyperlinks will take users outside of the platform, so ensure that you have saved all data prior to selecting a link.
Required Documents:
Parents must provide the following documents to finalize enrollment and schedule a meeting with a counselor. These can be submitted digitally through the online registration portal or in person at your student's school:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Record and NC Health Assessment
- Health History
- Custodian's Affidavit of Residence plus two of the following:
- NC driver's license
- NC state-issued ID
- Voter's registration card
- Rental agreement or deed
- Current utility bill
- Automobile registration card
- Registration Affidavit
- Most Recent Report Card or Transcript

After completing the online registration, please contact your student's school to schedule an appointment.
2025-2026 Pre-K Applications
2025-2026 Pre-K applications are now available online via our student information system, Infinite Campus. Please note that your child must be 4 years-old on or before August 31, 2025 to be eligible.

Eligibility Factors
NC Pre-K is a program designed to serve at risk student populations. To be determined eligible for NC Pre-K your child must be 4 years of age on August 31st, 2025 AND meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Family income is below 75% of SMI
- Your child is an English language learner
- Your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Program)
- Your child demonstrates an identified developmental or educational need
- Your child has a chronic health condition documented by a medical professional
- Your family can claim military status
- Your family can claim homelessness status
- Your family received WIC, SNAP, Medicaid, Social Security, or refugee benefits
- Your child is in foster care
- Your family lives in public housing
Developmental Screenings
Even if you think your child may not be eligible, we encourage all families to apply. We will administer the DIAL 4 developmental screenings which could show a developmental or educational need that could count towards eligibility.
All applicants will be contacted to make an appointment for their child to complete the screening. Screenings will occur on the following dates:
- First Flight Elementary - May 27, 2025
- Cape Hatteras Elementary - May 29, 2025
- Kitty Hawk Elementary - May 30, 2025
- Nags Head Elementary - June 2 & 3, 2025
- Manteo Elementary - June 4 & 5, 2025
Families will be notified by July 11, 2025 if their child has been accepted.

Kindergarten Kick-Off 2025 Events
Families of Rising Kindergarteners, You're Invited
To assist with online registration and learn more about what to expect in Kindergarten, parents are invited to attend a Kindergarten Kick-Off event for their child's future elementary school. Please bring your rising Kindergartener and these documents: birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, DCS Medical History Form, NC Health Assessment Transmittal Form, DCS Registration Affidavit, and DCS Custodian’s Affidavit of Residency. A notary will be on-site during each event to help with completion of documents.
