About our Programs
The Career and Technical Education Department seeks to provide students with opportunities to prepare to enter the workforce. Through local, state and national partnerships, students can choose to engage in workforce programs in businesses, community colleges, and major universities.
Dare County Schools (DCS) offer a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs available to all students at the middle and high school levels. The CTE program areas include the following: Agricultural Education; Business, Finance and Information Technology Education; Career Development; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Health Science Education; Marketing and Entrepreneurship Education; Technology Engineering and Design Education, and Trade and Industrial Education. All program areas are not offered at all schools.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an integral part of Dare County Schools. In compliance with federal law, Dare County Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, national, origin, gender, age, or disability in any of its Career Technical Education (CTE) programs or activities. To ensure all students have access to CTE and are successful, support services are provided by the CTE Career Development Coordinator/Special Populations Coordinator as well as the Dare County Schools Director of Student Services.
