Education Programs
The Career and Technical Education Department seeks to provide students with opportunities to prepare to enter the workforce. Through local, state and national partnerships, students can choose to engage in workforce programs in businesses, community colleges, and major universities.
Annual Notice
Dare County Schools (DCS) offer a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs available to all students at the middle and high school levels. The CTE program areas include the following: Agricultural Education; Business, Finance and Information Technology Education; Career Development; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Health Science Education; Marketing and Entrepreneurship Education; Technology Engineering and Design Education, and Trade and Industrial Education.
All program areas are not offered at all schools.
Each school may have different CTE options; not every school has all classes listed. For more information, contact your school’s Career Development Coordinator.

Students interested in a local internships can contact Internship Coordinator Camie Romano to find an internship that aligns with their interests and career goals. Work-based learning courses are part of the Career and Technical Education Department. These courses provide students with opportunities to prepare to enter the workforce.
