After School Care - Right at School
Dare County Schools Partners with Right at School
Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, Right At School, a leading provider of high-quality after-school enrichment programs, will offer after-school programming to Kindergarten through 5th grade students beginning August 24, 2026.
The registration fee has been waived for all families for the upcoming school year. Families will need to complete the registration, even if they have already done a paper application for ASEP for next school year.
To receive the employee discount, Dare County Schools employees should first register for the program and then complete the employee discount form, which can be found by clicking the Get Started button on the Right at School financial assistance page.

After School Program
For families who wish to participate in this program, it will be available after school until 6:00 PM every day school is in session. Parents will be able to work with Right At School to create flexible monthly schedules, choosing 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days per week. Drop-in care is also an option.
Right At School is committed to providing a safe and joy-filled after-school enrichment program led by dedicated, local educators. Our comprehensive, play-based program ensures students stay engaged and active while participating in group games and hands-on STEM and performing and fine arts activities.
In addition to dedicated time to complete homework, build fitness, and enjoy a snack, every student has opportunities to simultaneously reinforce core academic skills and build durable skills such as collaboration, communication, and creative thinking.

Educators
Right At School will hire current ASEP staff who would like to continue working with Dare County families. Additionally, Right At School will be hiring additional qualified educators as needed for Dare County’s after-school programs.
