Dare County Schools is excited to announce that kindergarten registration and NC Pre-K applications for the 2025-2026 school year are now open. Families with eligible children can complete the process conveniently online through our Infinite Campus student information system.

Register for Kindergarten / Apply to Pre-K

How to Register or Apply

To get started, visit the Infinite Campus portal. During the registration process, you will be prompted to select either:

• Kindergarten Registration (For children who will be five years old by August 31, 2025)
• NC Pre-K Application (For children who will be four years old by August 31, 2025, and meet eligibility requirements)

The portal is also available in Spanish, ensuring accessibility for more families. Please note that it is best to complete the registration or application on a computer rather than a cell phone.

Kindergarten Kick-Off Events

After registering for Kindergarten online, families are encouraged to attend one of our Kindergarten Kick-Off events at their child’s school. During these events, parents and guardians can:

• Submit and verify required documents and forms provided during the online registration process.
• Meet school staff and learn more about what to expect in the upcoming school year.

Required Documents

When attending the Kindergarten Kick-Off, please bring:

• Birth certificate
• Immunization records
• Proof of residency
• DCS Medical History Form 
• NC Health Assessment Transmittal Form
• DCS Registration Affidavit 
• DCS Custodian's Affidavit of Residency
