Upcoming Board of Education Meeting
Special Session Meeting | February 9, 2026
The Dare County Board of Education will meet in special session on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo, NC. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to meet in closed session with the Board of Education attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); to consider confidential personnel matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6); and to consider confidential student matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).
The regular monthly meeting of the Board will follow at 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on Dare County Schools Youtube Channel. The open portions of both meetings are open to the public.
