“I am thrilled at the success our students are achieving in these academic competitions. One of the first things we put in place was to get our students involved and competing again academically in these types of events,” said Dare County Schools Superintendent Steve Basnight.
“Our Mathletes are not only showing up and competing in regionals and states, they are coming back with Top 10s. What is even more amazing is some have never competed before and that is phenomenal! Yes, we have great athletics and we have great academics and I am so glad that these students are being recognized for their success.”
Dare County Schools congratulates all of the student mathletes on their outstanding accomplishments. The district also extends its appreciation to the coaches and families who supported and encouraged these students, as well as the Dare Education Foundation for providing grant funding to help cover registration fees.
