Upcoming Board of Education Meetings

The Dare County Board of Education will meet in special session on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo, NC. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to hold a training session and to meet in closed session with the Board of Education attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); to consider confidential personnel matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6); and to consider confidential student matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).
The regular monthly meeting of the board will follow at 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed live online. Both open session portions of the meetings are open to the public.
