Open House Events

Welcome to Dare County Schools! We are looking forward to welcoming students back for another successful school year. To help prepare for a great year, make plans to attend one of our upcoming Open House events. These events are floating. 

Open House Dates 2026-27

Cape Hatteras Elementary School

• Grades 1–5: Thursday, Aug. 20, 2–4 p.m.
• Pre-K: Friday, Aug. 28, 10–11 a.m.
• Kindergarten: Friday, Aug. 28, 12:30–1:30 p.m.

Cape Hatteras Secondary School

• All Grades: Thursday, Aug. 20, 4–6 p.m.

First Flight Elementary School

• Grades K–5: Thursday, Aug. 20, 2–4 p.m.
  (Kindergarteners will not know their teacher at this time, but they are welcome to attend)
• Kindergarten: Friday, Aug. 28, 9–10 a.m.
• Pre-K: Friday, Aug. 28, 10–11 a.m.

First Flight Middle School

• All Grades: Tuesday, Sept. 8, 5–6 p.m.

First Flight High School

• All Grades: Thursday, Aug. 20, 5–7 p.m.

Kitty Hawk Elementary School

• Grades 1–5: Thursday, Aug. 20, 1–3 p.m.
• Kindergarten: Friday, Aug. 28, 9–10:30 a.m.
• Pre-K: Friday, Aug. 28, 10:30–11:30 a.m.

Manteo Elementary School

• Grades K–5: Thursday, Aug. 20, 1–3 p.m.

Manteo Middle School

• Grade 6: Wednesday, Aug. 19, 3:30–5:30 p.m.

Nags Head Elementary School
