Upcoming Board of Education Meeting
Special Meeting | November 10, 2025
The Dare County Board of Education will meet in special session on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo, NC. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to meet in closed session with the Board of Education attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); to consider confidential personnel matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6); to consider confidential student matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99); and to consider confidential school safety components of school improvement plans as provided in N.C.G.S.143-318.11(a)(8).
The regular monthly meeting of the Board will follow at 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed live below. The open portions of both meetings are open to the public.

Board of Education Meeting Schedule 2025-26
The Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on the second Monday of each month unless noted otherwise. Locations and times of special meetings or workshops will be announced in accordance with General Statutes of North Carolina and the Dare County Board of Education Rules and Procedures for Meetings. Regular meetings may be canceled for justifiable reasons.
