Upcoming Board of Education Meeting
Special Meeting | April 14, 2025
The Dare County Board of Education will meet in special session on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo, NC. The purpose of the meeting is for the Board to meet in closed session with the Board of Education attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(3); to consider confidential personnel matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6); and to consider confidential student matters as provided in N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(1) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).
The regular monthly meeting of the Board will follow at 5:00 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Dare County Schools website. Both open portions of the meetings are open to the public. Agendas and supporting documents will be available online prior to the meeting.
Policy Review Committee Meeting | April 29, 2025
The Dare County Board of Education Policy Review Committee will meet on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Dare County Schools Administrative Office in Nags Head, NC, to review proposed policy manual updates.

Board of Education Meeting Schedule 2024-2025
The Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on the second Monday of each month unless noted otherwise. Locations and times of special meetings or workshops will be announced in accordance with General Statutes of North Carolina and the Dare County Board of Education Rules and Procedures for Meetings. Regular meetings may be canceled for justifiable reasons.
