Harvey Hess was recently appointed to fill the vacant District 2 seat on the Board of Education.
At a Special Called Meeting on February 5, 2020, the Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Harvey Hess to fill the vacant District 2 seat. The seat was vacated when former Board member Ben Sproul took office in December as Kill Devil Hills mayor.
Mr. Hess is a resident of Kitty Hawk and a former teacher in Dare County Schools. Mr. Hess will serve as the District 2 representative until the term expires in November of this year.
