Mouser's teaching career began when she attended and graduated with a B.A. in English Literature with a focus in Children's Literature. She had a double major and additionally earned her license for Elementary Education. After graduating she taught fourth grade for three years before relocating to Grantham, New Hampshire at the Grantham Village School, where she taught first grade for 11 years. Mouser says, "After many years of the winter wonderland and beautiful mountain life, my family and I decided to embark on a new adventure in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Trading in the mushing equipment and dog sled, we exchanged them for boogie boards and fishing poles. We have loved our new found home in the Outer Banks. This is my sixth year here and my family and I are so glad we made the move." Here, Mouser works with students, and students involved in a math game.

The conference is November 1-3 the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
