Projects Open for Review
The individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA-Part B, Public Law 108-446), Title I (Provision of School Wide Programs), Title II, Higher Education Opportunity Act (Public Law 110-315), Title III (limited English Proficiency) and Career and Technical Education projects are presently being amended. Each project describes the programs that Dare County Schools proposes for federal funding for the 2017-2018 school year. Interested persons are encouraged to review the amendments to the projects and make comments concerning the implementation of programs identified under each Federal Project.
All comments will be considered prior to submission of the amended projects to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh. The IDEA-Part B, Title I, Title II, Title III and Career and Technical Education projects are open to the public for review and comments during the week of May 15, 2017, at Dare County Schools Board of Education located at 3020 Wrightsville Avenue, Nags Head, NC.  Please contact Dawn Edwards at 252-480-8888 x 1926 to schedule an appointment to review IDEA-Part B, Margie Parker at 252-480-8888 x 1928 to schedule an appointment to review Title I, Title II, and Title III projects, and Jean Taylor at 252-480-8888 x 1

  • NCDPI is making available its annual state application for receiving grant award under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) as amended in 2004. The proposed application will be available for public review March 6- May 5.

     A copy of the state application will be available on NCDPI’s Exceptional Children website under Hot Topics. In addition, each local school district will receive a copy of the state application for public review. Comments will be accepted March 20-April 19.

    The state application will be available in the lobby of Central Office.
